Windows XP going off selves
I just read an article that says windows XP will no longer be made or sold starting in june. This really stinks because i dont trust vista yet and all its shenanigans. I think this is a big mistake my microsoft and that they are going to loose customers to Apples MAC machines. Im planning on getting a mac sooner or later as well. But i love windows xp and am going to hate getting rid of it.
Pens
Im not a hockey fan but i do enjoy watching it every now and then. I am from ohio where our hockey team is so terrible that there scores dont get posted unless they play someone big. I figure ill just root for the pens through the championship games just for the fun of it. I need something to celebrate until the Browns beat the steelers this year :-)
Tiger Woods
Most people have heard it, but if you havnt, tiger is out of the PGA for one month. He had arthrosopic knee surgery on tuesday and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with his rehab. It will be interesting to see who wins the next 2 events since he will not be there. Tiger is by far my favorite golfer but im rooting for Phil the left handed wonder.

Xbox 360's new control
I just read an article that explains how microsoft has a controller for the 360 platform that is exactly like the nintendo wii idea. It will basicly be the same thing but look different. It says that its "microsofts turn in cashing in on the wii's best feature." I find this very interesting and cool because i love the Wii and i love Xbox even more. This should be a good combination i hope.

Today i went on a field experience with Dr. Liu to Artman Elementry. It was really cool becuase we got to play with kindergarden students. I love to play with kids because there imagination is very big. They can come up with some of the weirdest things and its funny. I have another field exp. comming up the 15th and i cant wait to go.

Nintendo Wii shortage no more
I just read on the internet that the Wii shortage is comming to an end. The reason i guess it wasnt avaliable is because the american dollar isnt worth as much now than when the Wii first came to america. The money and prices have now caught up and Japan is producing more Wiis for america.

Golf Team
As we all know many sports were taken away with the title 9 stuff that happend. Because of this, the golf team no longer gets any kind of support from the School. This doesnt bother me because we still play. But what does bother me is that the other week i ordered new clubs through our coach. The clubs never came in because when Titleist recieved the form for the clubs, they were sold out and tried to contact our coach at the school. Titleist then found out that we are not a division 2 school for golf and cancelled our contract with them. There goes my money for the clubs because now i have to pay more for full price or go with another set of clubs.

Kim Peek
I dont know if man people of heard of this man, but he is the smartest man in the world. Kim Peek is mentally handicapped, but he remembers everything. He is known as a savant, one of 50 in the world. He is able to remember 98% of everything he reads hears and sees. I was watching a documentary on him the other day and it was just amazing the amount if information he has kept. He can tell you what your zip code is if you name your town you grew up in or live in now. He can tell you the day you were born on (meaning days of the week). He also knows every leader of every country that ever lived and all there family members and when they ruled and ended there rule. Pretty amazing...

March Madness
I dont understand why people make such a big deal about college basketball. Of course its much better than the NBA but i dont see it being bigger than the NBA Championship like everyone makes it out to be. Dont get me wrong i love to watch basketball and play it, its just all the hype that makes me not want to watch the tourny at all.

500gb
I was just reading on yahoo! that apple has this thing called the time capsule. It holds 500gb of memory and its wireless. This is new to me because i dont think i have ever seen anything over 180gb's. I dont know about most people but i know i would never be able to fill that up in a life time.

The Active Denial System (Crowd Control
So i recently read this topic on yahoo. it was about the active denial system, a crowd control weapon used to dispurse civilians in a fire fight or any other type of situation. It uses a strong electromagnentic pulse to heat whatever it is aimed at. Just like a microwave it heats the water in the skin to around 130degrees, about as hot as sculding water....sounds like fun..

Contact Eye lense lets you see everything. Even at night.
Just today i was reading this very interesting artical on Yahoo!. It was about these developers who have created a contact eye lense that could change the way we see things literaly. Want night vision? You got it. Want to zoom in like binoculars? Yup that too. They have the technology to do it, the only problem is finding a wireless source of energy for the lens. I dont know about other people but i would be first in line if i had the money to have night vision whenever i wanted. I would guess that they would be able to change eye color whenever they wanted amongst many other things. The possiblitys are endless with this technology.

HD-DVD vrs Blu-ray
I just read on Yahoo that Blu-ray is beating out HD-DVDs in the market now. I dont know much about either but i know a few years ago Blu-ray players were very very expensive. companys are actually getting rid of the HD-DVD and switching over, making HD-DVD not as avalabile as it used to be.

Cell Phones OFF on airplanes?
Have you ever wondered "why do i have to turn my phone off, on a stupid plane?" The answer is just BECAUSE. I watch mythbusters anytime it is on. It is one of my favorite shows to watch besides Rob and Big, and Dirty Jobs. The mythbusters tried all they could to mess up the instruments on a plane with different cell phone waves be amplified and had no results what so ever. So why do we have to turn our cell phones of on a plane? The answer came at the end of the episode. The reason is, there is so many new cell phones that do come out every year that they dont want to take the risk. They run on a different frequency and waves. Interesting..not really but it does make sense.

BRRRRRRR!
As we all know we had a bad winter storm last week and getting to class was a pain. I couldnt believe how bad the roads, sidewalks, driveways, and even the grass was. It was hard trying to keep balance for the half-mile walk i have to class at 8am. I saw at least 5 people fall on the ice that day. I really think that the road service should have been a little more prepared for this and that SRU should have as well.

Battery Life
i recently read a post on EverythingQ.com which is a provider for my cell phone and a help service, that there is a battery out there made for certain smart phones that will last up to 6 days with constant use. I thought this was pretty cool because most of the time my phone only last half a day with constant use.

HD TV
My brother bought a 32 vizio flat screen a few weeks ago. But only recently did he get High Def channels on to the set. the picture from regular cable to HD is night and day with clearity. It is amazing how big of a difference it made once he got those channels. I read somewhere that they are working on "laser" sets. The use lasers to project the screen and is said to be so clear that your there in detail. I dont remember much about it but that it was being tested and not out yet.

Youtube
For the past few days i have been attempting to get full youtupe axcess on my motorola q. so far i have had some success but not with playing any videos. Although i probably have fixed the problem now i have not tried to view videos yet, it should work after class sometime.
I think that it is amazing that phones like the Iphone are able to view videos off the web and youtube. It just amazes me how far technology has come since phones and the web have come together. phones never used to be able to axcess things like that, they were very limited.

Intro
My name is Ryan Ziegler and i grew up south of Youngstown, Ohio in Columbiana. I went to South Range High School where i played golf for the varsity team as the 3rd man and i ran track. I was very good at both and both teams won many titles. I work at Old Navy at the Grove City outlets and at golf courses in the summer. I'm pretty decent with technology because my dad was infrastructure and operations manager for Delphi in Lordstown, Ohio, good things he retired before they started to go downhill. If i dont know what im doing with something i can almost always figure out how to or what to do with it. I like techonolgy because i have a lot of fun learning how to use new things and just playing with the different types of technology.
